(Opinion) 2008 Bay Area Hip Hop Year In Review

2008 was a better year for Bay Area Hip Hop than 2007, but it did not match the year we had in 2006 in either publicity or quality. The trend moved from trying to capitalize on the media success of hyphy to putting out singles with R&B singers on the hook. For 2009, I’m expecting Bay Area rappers to come with an updated mobb sound.

While i feel you that Quinn is tight, have you ever seen a live show with Quinn? I got made love for Quinn but you saying he has the best album out the Bay for 2008 is a tad ridiculous. Although Quinn has been laying it down for Frisco for years you gotta be trippin’ thinking that people outside the SF area actually care about Quinn. If you got any friends outside
Frisco than you know no one outside of Frisco bumps Quinn at all. If you believe otherwise than you are seriouly mistaken. I’m a Frisco boy born and raised, i grew on divis and Ofarrell and i know once you leave the city no one really gives a fuck about Quinn. If you really wanna claim being a Bay blog you need to recognize that the Bay really don’t bump Quinn or most emcess from the Bay.

So who had the best album out the Bay in 2008 in your opinion?

Plus… what does having people outside of the Bay like an album have to do with it being the best Bay album? It’s hard to like something you haven’t had a chance to listen to.
