I don’t post too much music from Sacramento artists since it technically isn’t part of the Bay Area, but this is too sick to skip. Does Brotha Lynch have another classic in him?

PRESS RELEASE:
San Francisco, February 1, 2010: It’s been a long time coming, but Big Rich and Ya Boy are back together. It’s Going on 5 years since they created the hit single Meet the Dealers, which was featured on Big Rich’s first solo album Block Tested Hood Approved. Big Rich and Ya Boy both got their start in the music industry on Done Deal Entertainment. In 2004, the record label split up, but these two artists upheld their friendship, knowing that one day their paths would cross again; which brings us to today.
3 Story Muzik and Black Card Music proudly bring you, “Guns and Roses”. This project consists of 8 brand new songs by Big Rich and Ya Boy and will be available exclusively on iTunes. The title “Guns and
Roses” was not only inspired by the famous rock band, but by BR and YB’s knack for catering to both their urban and mainstream fans.
Perfect chemistry and like-minded business men, these two saw their potential with the support of their fans to take off on this venture. With brilliant productions by D’animals, Rob E, and Pete G, this little album has big sounds. All features on the album are of their own artists. There’s no need to outsource when the artists of 3 Story Muzik (Big Rich’s Label) and Black Card Music (Ya Boy’s Label) are already buzzing in the streets of California and worldwide.
This album will only be available for purchase online on iTunes, February 16, 2010.
As DaVinci continues to prepare for the March 9th release of his official debut album, “The Day The Turf Stood Still”, the rising Fillmore talent is dropping another pre-album song, Real Niggaz. Featuring a guest verse Kaz Kyzah, formerly one half of the duo The Team along with Clyde Carson, as well as production from up-and-coming Gary, Indiana beatsmith Kris Styles and singer ROD. The message of the song, drawing from the track’s title, finds DaVinci and his fellow artists speaking on character issues. But rather than petty finger-pointing, in DaVinci’s own style, he spends his verses in lyrical confrontation against, as he calls it, “The saturation of superficial, dishonest, and redundant content in the streets, media, and politics.” DaVinci’s lyrics contrast the beat’s soul sample, as the song combines sped up vocal samples and DaVinci’s raspy baritone as he raps, “Since Jigga ain’t my bigger brother, and 9th Wonder ain’t my Little Brother/ I don’t sit and wonder how I’m fin to get on/ I just shit on, the phlegm on, any track I spit on.” Indeed, and with forthcoming videos and singles from The Day The Turf Stood Still on the way, if DaVinci’s warning doesn’t quite resonate yet… it will.
